2015 Subaru Forester Price range

It is hard to discern what 2015 Subaru Forester really is. One one side, it is pretty small for a mid-size crossover, but on the other, bigger than a regular compact ute. In any case, Forester recently entered its fourth generation and 2015 year models are carried over from last year.

2015 Subaru Forester Under the Hood

2015 Subaru Forester
As before, Forester comes with a couple of four bangers. Base engine is 2.5L 4-cylinder one which delivers 170 hp and 174 lb-ft of torque. If that doesn’t cut it for you, upper tiers can be ordered with 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine making 250 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. Standard gearbox is a 6-speed manual, but CVT transmission is also available. It’s a shame that turbo engines don’t come with manuals as it would have been nice seeing them achieving their full potential.

Styling – Inside and Outside look

Compact Forester is an agile crossover which features a small trapezoid mesh grille with a chrome garnish in its middle. Bumper is high and headlights are angular, while wheel arches are slightly pronounced. At the back, Subaru’s compact has thin pillars positioned at the end of the tailgate thanks to which it offers good outward visibility.

Even though being small, Forester can pack more than a few high-end features, but only in highest grades and/or as a part of the optional package. Base models have the cloth seating upholstery, while the Limited and Touring models get the leather-trimmed seats together with an option of heated front seats which come with the all-weather optional package. Dashboard was kept simple and the instrument panel seamlessly widens as it goes upward.

At its top, below the cover sits a small 4.3-inch color multi-function display which is used for optional navigation purposes among others. Being as small as it is, there’s no need to say anything about navigation’s disastrous functionality. The screen is also used for a rearview camera which is standard across the lineup, while optional safety features include adaptive cruise control and EyeSight system which monitors the road up ahead and applies automatic brakes should the need arise.

2015 Subaru Forester rear

2015 Subaru Forester is a solid compact crossover which is more spacious than many of its competitors and utilizes its room in a best possible way. It is also riddled with available features, at least as long as compacts go and deserves the attention of the markets and their segments.
