A new hyper car coming, the new monster 2016 BMW M6 GT3. BMW’s M lineup pretty much represents the peak when it comes to performance that comes out of Bavarian maker’s assembly lines. Still, if you do own an M6, which is the flagship model in the lineup, it doesn’t mean that you own the strongest BMW there is. Soon to arrive, 2016 BMW M6 GT3 will be an epitome of power and it will be used in GT racing competitions straightaway.
2016 BMW M6 GT3 Engine
GT3 edition of M6 uses the same powertrain as its production sibling. 4.4L twin-turbo V-8 mill is more than capable of putting up 560 hp and 500 lb-ft of torque in base models, and GT3’s performance will certainly be even better. This, however, doesn’t mean that grand tourer will deliver bigger figures.
On the contrary, its power output will be limited to around 500 hp and lb-ft of torque in order to meet FIA regulations, but sheer acceleration and driving dynamics that come from racing setups will be unparalleled. It goes without saying that Germans will fit their performance ace with race-spec manual transmission and plenty of other enhancements.
This monster hits 62 mph for less than 4 seconds. Also, max speed is around 190 mph.
Design – Inside and Outside look
2016 BMW M6 GT3 will also get specially designed exterior plates. It will get lower, sharper bumpers and side skirts, together with more pronounced fenders and plenty of air intakes. Rear end will get special exhaust tips and a large wing spoiler, but otherwise, M6 GT3 will keep BMW’s signature details like split grille, sharp headlamps and arching tourer roofline. It goes without saying that GT3 version of BMW’s largest and most powerful coupes will be otherworldly in terms of custom upgrades.
There’s still no info on new M6’s interior for now. Of course, 2016 BMW M6 GT3 is a racecar, and as that doesn’t emphasize on active safety or convenience features. It does require a certain level of comfort, however, and gets it from sport supportive leather seats. Cabin also comes with a cage, so there’s no room for more than one person inside it, and that’s the driver.
Otherwise, GT3 is stripped off of all advanced tech features and packages which means that you won’t be able to enjoy audio, air conditioning or some advanced safety systems like adaptive cruise control or lane departure warnings for instance. These are all obsolete when it comes to the race track, and why would anyone be interested to buy race-legal car just to enjoy connecting it with its iPod?
2016 BMW M6 GT3 Price
Still, even though M6 GT3 doesn’t really excel in terms of available technology, it still manages to come with inflated price tag. Prices are not yet disclosed, but expect a figure of around $250,000 to hit you if you decide to get it.
The biggest rivals: Audi R8 LMS Ultra and McLaren 650S GT3.
2016 BMW M6 GT3 will be lighter and faster than its conventional sibling. 0 to 60 speed in around 4 seconds and top speed of almost 200 mph should be enough to sway you into getting one of these if GT racing is your thing. Grand tourer is as handsome as always and gets the job done in spite of its shortcomings in luxury department.
