2017 Infiniti Q60 Coupe

Infiniti is currently in the process of redesigning most of their current lineup and the first one to go through this process was the Q50 sedan which is now based on an all new platform. The coupe version of the Q50 will not be called just the Q50 Coupe but instead, Infiniti will closely follow its competitors and it will name their new mid-range coupe the 2017 Infiniti Q60 Coupe. The car will be using the same platform as the Q50 sedan as well as most of the running gear and engines.

However, the exterior as well as the interior of the car are going to be all new in order to allow them to compete with the BMW 4 Series and the Audi A5, both of them being their current class leaders.

The Engine & Performance

Under the hood of the 2017 Infiniti Q60 Coupe there are going to be a few different engines. The base model will get a 2 liter turbocharged inline 4 petrol engine built by Nissan in the United States. This will provide up to 241 horsepower and little over 220 lb-ft of torque which is still more than enough to power this rather light coupe. Further up the range, instead of having the same engine as the Mercedes counterpart, the car will use a Nissan-developed 3 liter V6 which has been developed from scratch for Infiniti’s future applications.

This will be offered in twin-turbocharged form only and it is expected to offer around 330 horsepower and over 320 lb-ft of torque in the base trim level. The car is also likely going to be offered in a sportier trim level which is going to offer up to 400 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque which should be more than enough to match the performance of the M4.

Both of these will likely be offered with a new 7 speed dual-clutch automatic but in Europe, a 6 speed manual could be offered on the base trim level.

Refined Design – Interior & Exterior

The exterior of the Q60 is something special and considering that the spied model is nearly ready for production, we have to say that it is the best looking Infiniti to date. The front end offers their trademark grille but the car actually borrows some of the design of the GTR-powered Eau de Rouge Q50. The sides are muscular and the back of the car has really nice lines which really complete the design. It seems that the model spied is the V6 version so it has large 19 inch rims, chrome accents and a sportier looking body-kit.

Modern interior

The inside of the 2017 Infiniti Q60 Coupe is still largely unknown for now but considering it is the coupe version of the Q50, we are expecting it to borrow heavily from the sedan. This means that the dashboard, steering wheel and most of the equipment level are going to be carried over but the seats seem to be all new and they are likely provided by a well known seat manufacturer considering the large side bolsters.

2017 Infiniti Q60 Coupe Price

While so far we didn’t know too much about the upcoming Q60, the car has been spied testing in the late 2015 and it has been spied once again a couple of weeks ago. The design seems finished and considering we’ve seen the car without any camouflage on it, we can safely assume that they will go through with this design for the production model.

The car is likely going to be showcased at the Detroit Auto Show and it should be available for sale starting with the mid of 2016. Its price is currently unknown but considering how things are going, the car will start at roughly $41,000 and it will go up from there.

Competition: Cadillac ATS, BMW 4-series, Audi A5 and Mercedes-Benz C-class coupeLexus RC.
