It appears Jeep has been busy as of late – the new 2017 Jeep CUV is in the making. It will most likely replace one of the more dated models. At this point, all we know is that FCA is making a vehicle that should replace either the Patriot or Compass (or both) and inherit one of their names – or it could be the beginning of a brand new line, for all we know.
One thing is for certain, though: Jeep could use some fresh blood (well, oil in this case), something to follow up on the Renegade and its success. There will probably be some common elements between the aforementioned Renegade and this new CUV.
2017 Jeep CUV – new Design
Due to the secretive nature of Jeep staff and heavy camouflage, you can barely even take a hint on the overall shape of the vehicle, let alone anything more than that. The front seems rounded, while the front fascia resembles that of Cherokee. Judging by the roofline, we could be looking at a spacious vehicle, and the only distinct rear feature is the tailgate window. Judging by the fender flairs, this vehicle might be have good off-road capabilities.
Spying the inside of the 2017 Jeep CUV has been a disaster, as no usable piece of information has been confirmed. Judging by the exterior, it should come as no surprise if the interior has a luxurious vibe, with high-end materials and craftsmanship, rather than focusing on high-tech gadgets. This vehicle seems to be aimed at a more mature customer base, so the infotainment and sound systems may not be high on the list of priorities.
The Engine & Performance
As for the force behind those mysterious wheels, 2017 Jeep CUV reveals next to nothing. If rumors turn out to be true, for once, the hood might be concealing one of the first “Hurricane” 2.0 l turbocharged four-cylinder engines. Naturally, we are nowhere near the accurate specs of this bad boy, but we can always take an educated guess at its performance and fuel economy. We are probably looking at a 170-180 hp and roughly 160 lb-ft of torque, as this would put it smack dab in the middle of the existing engines. Or it could just use one of the older models.
As for transmission, whatever FCA chooses for the engine will be paired up with a 9-speed automatic transmission. Optional 4WD system that is being mentioned will enable driving on all sorts of terrains and is a relatively commonplace in the Renegade and Cherokee, so it stands to reason that this will be no exception.

2017 Jeep CUV Release Date
We may not even know what Jeep is even making, but whatever it is, it can’t possibly cost more than $22,000 – any more than that and you might s well buy a Cherokee; anything less than $18,000 and you’re better off with the Renegade. So the price will most likely be somewhere in-between.
We should know more about this vehicle by next summer, which would then mean that release date would be in 2017.
The biggest rivals are Subaru XV Crosstrek and Honda HR-V.
Unfortunately, there is no additional information about safety, and official video. The latest reports say that first video & details will be in February, 2016. So, stay tuned and come back here to see the newest review.
