2018 Bugatti Chiron

The new beast on the road, 2018 Bugatti Chiron. Bugatti Veyron used to rule the streets as one of the fastest cars ever built, and it still does. For how long, we still don’t know, but Italians are preparing its replacement.

After Veyron finally goes to a well-deserved retirement, Chiron will take its place. 2018 Bugatti Chiron is supposed to continue straight where its predecessor is going to leave the scene and, honestly, we can’t wait for that to happen.

Under the Hood & Specs

This isn’t the first time that Bugatti is using Chiron nameplate. They have already named their 1999 concept car by Bugatti’s racing driver Louis Chiron, and, incidentally, Veyron was its successor. Concept used to be powered by 6.3L W-18 engine which delivered 555 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque. Now, after Chiron had completed a full circle, it should be powered by Veyron’s own 8.0L W-16 engine with four turbochargers and exorbitant figures of 1500 hp and 1100 lb-ft of torque.

Mid engined – all-wheel drive layout will be kept, but this time 2-door coupe will get torque vectoring and 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. Thanks to all these details, Chiron should reach 0 to 62 mph in 2.5 seconds and top speed of (you might want to sit now) 288 mph.

Design – more aggressive than previous model

How much differences will be found across the duo of cars, and how many details will they share? Overall style most likely won’t change, and 2018 Bugatti Chiron should be a reflection of Veyron in a way. This means that we’ll see plenty of gracious lines and curves which we’re so used to when Bugatti is concerned. One major difference might be vertical swinging doors which aren’t chosen only because of styling reasons, but for practicality as well.

But, one of the biggest changes and improvements is new aerodynamic look and improved design. These improvements helping to achieve a max speed.

Inside look

What is there to expect from future supercar’s interior. Plenty of leather and carbon fiber, that’s for sure. However, rest of it would only be speculation at this point. Firstly, there’s plenty of time for some tech upgrades until 2018, and secondly, the company might change their strategy by then as well. Expect the whole feature list to be carried over, and of course, updated accordingly. Some new systems might find their way to 2018 Bugatti Chiron as well, but let’s leave it at that for the time being.

2018 Bugatti Chiron Price and Release date

Do you want to know how much fuel does this type of powertrain use. We thought so. Moving on to the price tag. Nothing new here, really; Chiron is supposed to cost around two and a half million dollars (that’s $2,500,000). Moreover, that’s a pretty steep price for a car, but Bugatti doesn’t just make cars – they make symphonies on wheels.

Nowadays, the new Bugatti has only one rival, as you can to suppose, Koenigsegg One:1.

2018 Bugatti Chiron faces a tough job of walking in its predecessor’s footsteps. Veyron was branded as the car of the century by Top Gear, but, however impressive that might sound, Chiron won’t be that far off from Veyron. In fact, as a modern option, it might even become better. In any case, everyone expects another rocket from the Italian luxury sport outlet, and they are about to get their wishes granted.
